Volunteer
Research has shown that when parents volunteer in their children’s school, everyone benefits. Volunteering sends the message to students that education is important! There are many ways you can help here at Athena Elementary.
Here are a few ideas on how you can be involved:
- Attend meetings on school issues
- Volunteer to help on the playground, or in the school discovery garden
- Assist with material preparation for classrooms
- Read or practice math with students
- Join the parent group (PIE)
- Volunteer in our library
All volunteers must first complete and pass a background check. These are to be completed annually.
You may complete it online or contact the office for a paper copy.
